This approximately 500-meter-long embankment along the Vam Thuat River, with its many wide sandy beaches, attracts thousands of people every day for recreation and relaxation.

For nearly a week now, the approximately 500-meter-long embankment along the Vam Thuat River, passing through An Nhon ward, has become bustling as many people flock there to experience the "Go Vap beach".

Locals and tourists flocked to the completed sections of the embankment and the area where sand had been dumped to level the ground. Thanks to the spacious open area, many people likened it to a "beach" in the heart of the city.

According to locals, nearly 1,000 people visit the area each day, mostly in the afternoon and evening, to enjoy the cool breeze and relax.

Many parents bring their young children to the riverside area to play in the sand along the embankments.

Ms. Thu An, a resident of An Nhon ward, said that this area was originally a road undergoing renovation and expansion. Thanks to videos shared online, her family comes here every afternoon to stroll and enjoy the cool breeze.

"The wide streets and spacious surroundings make it ideal for relaxing after a long day," said Ms. An.

Along the riverbank, many vendors sell kites and balloons to cater to tourists' desire for unique experiences. The price of each kite ranges from a few tens of thousands to over a hundred thousand dong.

Many people consider this location an ideal spot for kite flying this summer in Ho Chi Minh City, alongside familiar locations such as Landmark 81 Park, the area at the foot of Thu Thiem Bridge, and The Global City.

Having learned about the location through a video that went viral on social media, Anh Hong and her friends brought food and a mat to sit on. The group said the destination offered a novel feeling, similar to a picnic near home.

"We hope the place will be kept clean so as not to affect future visitors," Hong said, adding that after the fun, the group will collect the trash and post the video on social media to spread the message.

The area is less obstructed, making it ideal for taking check-in photos. From certain angles, Landmark 81 can be seen in the distance, adding a striking element to the frame.

In addition, because it's located near a flight path, planes occasionally fly across the sky, creating moments that many young people look forward to capturing. These factors have contributed to the location quickly going viral on social media.

Currently, the Vam Thuat river area is still under construction, with many items incomplete, thus posing potential safety risks. Some locations still have construction materials and unreinforced sandy soil, making them prone to subsidence or slippage, especially at night when lighting is limited.

Locals and tourists should exercise caution when approaching the area, avoiding areas with barriers or under construction. Families with young children should closely supervise them and prevent them from running and jumping freely on unstable ground or near the edge of the embankment to minimize risks.

This section of the embankment is part of the Tham Luong canal renovation project, with an investment of over 9,000 billion VND. The project has currently reached nearly 70% completion.

The project includes many components such as the construction of concrete embankments and roads along both sides of the canal, stretching for tens of kilometers. In addition to dredging the entire route, the project also involves the construction and repair of culverts connecting to the canal to improve drainage capacity and urban beautification.
